Test of emergency alert system set for September 17

Test of emergency alert system set for September 17
Heather Pelat

A test of our emergency alert system will be sent to parents and guardians on Wednesday, Sept. 17 starting at 7 p.m. A test call and text message will go to all numbers associated with student contacts in PowerSchool. It may take a few minutes to reach everyone.

To receive text messages, the number in PowerSchool must be listed as a cell phone. Parents/guardians must also opt-in by texting Y to 67587 from that cell phone. (Standard data and messaging rates may apply. To opt out, text STOP to 67587.) If you received text messages last year, you DO NOT need to opt-in again.

In anticipation of this test, please check the phone numbers you have on file in PowerSchool under Forms → Student Contacts → Student Contact Information. Changes can be made in PowerSchool but must be approved by school staff before the changes take effect. Please note, the same phone number can be listed for a contact’s home and cell phone numbers but must be listed as a cell phone number to receive text messages.

If you do not receive the call or text on Sept. 17 and the numbers in PowerSchool are correct, please complete the form here to troubleshoot with a member of our IT staff.

Your diligence and this test will ensure we have accurate phone numbers on file for all parents and guardians. Thank you for your cooperation.
